Why the vulture is ugly!

A long time ago, vulture was a very beautiful bird with stripes of colours all the animals admired.vulture was admired by all but he was very greedy, he always wanted everything for himself and cared less of others. One day,eagle the king of the birds organised a yam festival. For the festival, all birds will gather the ingredients and cook the yams in the palace after which they will all eat as one united family. Vulture was happy when he heard about the feast because he loved yam especially the roasted ones,the thought of having enough Roasted yam for himself which he can enjoy even after the feast occupied vulture's mind.When he learnt that ostrich was incharge of roasted yam,vulture decides he will set ostrich's wings on fire which will make him runaway to the village stream so that he can take away enough yams home without anyone knowing . Vulture used his charm to be put alongside ostrich in charge of roasting of the yams.vulture did as he planned which made the ostrich fly away but the ostrich lost its wings before it got to the stream.Greed could not allow vulture to pick a few yams ,he picked more than he could carry and ended up burning his wings, before he reached home .The once beautiful vulture had become so dark and ugly.when the king heard of what vulture had done he barnished him from the land and vulture was sent to the desert.while in the desert, vulture had no food and finally relied on the remains of dead travellers going through the desert .The ostrich after losing its flight is always seen running to the desert to even scores with vulture.
